Eduardo Carmona Ortega

Eduardo Cirilo Carmona Ortega CORC (born March 18, 1959 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Cordoba .

Life

Eduardo Cirilo Carmona Ortega was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tacámbaro on August 20, 1983 and in 1991 joined the Workers' Order of the Kingdom of Christ .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on November 8, 2003 as the first bishop of the diocese of Puerto Escondido , which was established on the same date . He received his episcopal consecration from the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello , on January 7, 2004; Co- consecrators were Héctor González Martínez , Archbishop of Durango , and José Luis Chávez Botello , Archbishop of Antequera, Oaxaca .

On June 27, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Parral . The solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on July 25 of the same year.

Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Cordoba on November 6, 2019 . With the resignation of Eduardo Porfirio Patiño Leal on July 4, 2020, he succeeded him as Bishop of Córdoba.
