Edwin Colaço

Edwin Colaço (born October 2, 1937 in Uttan ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus bishop of Aurangabad .

Life

Edwin Colaço was ordained a priest on December 2, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Amravati on April 1, 1995 . The Archbishop of Bombay , Simon Ignatius Cardinal Pimenta , donated him episcopal ordination on July 30th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Leobard D'Souza , Archbishop of Nagpur , and Joseph Albert Rosario MSFS , Bishop Emeritus of Amravati.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Aurangabad on October 20, 2006.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 13, 2015.
