Edzard Blanke

Edzard Blanke (born May 26, 1935 in Celle ; † July 1, 2011 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1985 to 1990 he was President of the Lower Saxony State Parliament .

Life

Blanke was the son of the lawyer and later mayor of Celle, Kurt Blanke . In 1954 he first passed the Abitur in Celle and in 1956 the commercial clerk examination (banking subject) in Hamburg . From 1956 to 1959 he studied law in Freiburg , Paris and Munich . Between 1959 and 1960 he passed the first state examination (trainee examination) in Munich and between 1960 and 1964 he was in trainee training. After studying at the American School of Politics in Bologna (Bologna Center), he was awarded a doctorate in 1963 in Munich. jur. PhD. In 1964 he passed the assessor examination and worked as a lawyer in Hildesheim from 1965 and later in Lüneburg ; from 1974 until reaching the age limit in 2005 he was also a notary .

From June 21, 1970 to June 20, 1994 Edzard Blanke was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the 7th to 12th electoral term. Here he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from February 23, 1976 to July 10, 1985. He was also President of the Lower Saxony state parliament from July 10, 1985 to June 21, 1990. Until he left the state parliament, he was vice-president of Lower Saxony Parliament from June 21, 1990 to June 20, 1994.

From 1991 to 1998 Blanke was honorary district administrator for the district of Celle .
