The Egerlingsschirmlinge or Egerlingsschirmpilze ( Leucoagaricus ) are a kind of mushroom from the family of the mushroom relatives .
features
Egerling parasols are small to large mushrooms with an umbrella- like appearance; some species are very similar in shape to mushrooms . The hat is usually fleshy and white to brownish in color. The surface of the hat is smooth, fibrous or flaky. The lamellae are free to almost free, thin, they stand together and sometimes turn pink when the fruiting bodies are ripe. The spore powder is white or pink.
ecology
The Egerlingsschirmlinge are saprobiontic soil dwellers.
species
The genus includes around 75 species worldwide, for Europe the following species are given in the literature:

Systematics
The genus is closely related to the folding umbrella ( Leucocoprinus ), the separation of the two genera is controversial.
meaning
Egerling parasols are generally to be avoided as edible mushrooms by inexperienced collectors due to the high risk of confusion with poisonous mushrooms (especially with amulas such as the spring cap mushroom ), they are also rather insignificant in terms of taste. The pink-leaved Egerling umbrella is considered to be edible and is often confused with Egerlings , which, however, have dark lamellas. Too little is known about other Egerling parasols, so that in many identification books they fall under the category "Not edible mushrooms". Leaf cutter ants breed the species Leucoagaricus gongylophorus in their nests .
