The Eichbach , sometimes also called the oak , is a left tributary of the Hahle in the Thuringian district of Eichsfeld .
course
The Eichbach rises between Steinbach and Hundeshagen on the northern slope of the Kalte Lindenberg (413.2 m), along a steep step edge of the Zehnsberg . The headwaters alternate from forest to mostly agricultural land, to the east is the Eichberg (315.8 m) of the same name. It flows in a northerly direction and shortly before Teistungen takes on the Finkgraben and Rittersumpfgraben coming from Berlingerode . After flowing through Teistungen, it flows into the Rhume tributary Hahle at the northern development boundary.
particularities
At its upper course in the Rangental was the former Westernhagen Castle , a moated castle whose moat was filled with water from the nearby Eichbach. Only a few relics are traceable from the castle complex. In the past two mills were operated on the further course of the Eichbach, the Eichholzmühle near Berlingerode and the Kämpenmühle in Teistungen.
