A magical beast is a German family series that was first broadcast on ZDF from January 3, 1981 to November 30, 1981 . The director of the nine-part television series led Hartmut Griesmayr . The script was written by Karl Heinz Willschrei, Uta Geiger-Berlet, Georg Althammer and Franz Geiger.

action

The series takes place in Munich in the early eighties. The lawyer Dr. Rainer Braun is the single father of twelve year old Angie. One after the other he tries to find a wife for himself and at the same time an ideal mother for Angie. But this usually always finds a reason why this woman is not the ideal partner for her father. With all sorts of skill and pranks, little Angie drives away all the women, so that in the end Rainer always ends up without a new partner.

Monaco Film produced the TV series for ZDF.

In the episode "Beethoven and Bodycheck", the successful former German ice hockey player and national coach Erich Kühnhackl can be seen in a small guest role.

A magical beast has been broadcast four times on German television, the last time in 1992 (as of 07/2019). The actress of Angie, Beate Bock, did not appear on television after this series. What became of her is uncertain.
