In 2000, the company started its construction and freight train services. The Preßnitztalbahn interest group was one of the founding partners of PRESS with the aim of creating professional security for active members of the association who wanted to turn their hobby railways into a profession. It has been operating local rail passenger transport on the Putbus - Göhren narrow-gauge railway since 2008, and on the Bergen - Putbus - Lauterbach Mole line since December 2009. It took over a number of railway lines, including the Putbus – Lauterbach Mole line. The transport contract for the last-mentioned route Bergen - Lauterbach was extended in December 2018 to December 11, 2027.

Rügen bath railway

In 2007, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the district of Rügen awarded the transport services of the narrow-gauge Rügen small railway on the island of Rügen to PRESS for 20 years . To this end, she founded the new business area Rügensche Bäderbahn (RüBB). At the beginning of 2008, it was only possible to carry out emergency operations with rented Saxon vehicles, as the vehicles from the previous owner Rügensche Kleinbahn GmbH & Co. KG (RüKB) were not handed over on time. The vehicles and 46 employees were finally taken over in mid-2008. The vehicles were bought back by the Rügen district and are rented to PRESS . In the following years, the company took over various narrow-gauge locomotives and wagons from different sources and had them mostly refurbished in working order, for example the locomotives 99 4011-5 (2009) and 99 1783-2 (2014) as well as various vehicles from the Walter Seidensticker collection jun. (2009).
