Eliteserien (chess) 2012/13
The 2012/13 elite series was the seventh season of the Norwegian elite series in chess .
The Norwegian team champion was the Oslo Schakselskap for the fourth time in a row , which was only a single draw. The Black Knights Oslo and Trondheim Sjakkforening rose from the 1st divisjon last year . While the Black Knights achieved relegation, Trondheim had to relegate again on the fourth attempt. In purely sporting terms, as in the previous year, the Akademisk Sjakklubb Oslo would have been second relegated, and with the withdrawal of Kristiansund SK they were again spared relegation. Game dates
The competitions took place on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2012, January 11th, 12th and 13th, April 5th, 6th and 7th 2013. All competitions were held centrally in Oslo .
Season course
The Oslo Schakselskap was in a class of its own and was already the champions before the last round. On the other hand, the relegation battle was exciting, with seven of the ten teams facing relegation before the final round. Because of their defeats, the Akademisk Sjakklubb Oslo and the Trondheim Sjakkforening ended up in the last two places.
