Elke Eckerstorfer
Elke Eckerstorfer (born October 15, 1974 in Linz ) is an Austrian pianist , organist and harpsichordist .
Life
Eckerstorfer was born in Linz and grew up in Wels, Upper Austria . She attended the music high school in Linz and studied piano at the Bruckner Conservatory . From 1994 she studied organ with Rudolf Scholz , piano with Antoinette Van Zabner and harpsichord with Wolfgang Glüxam and Augusta Campagne at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . As part of a study visit to the Paris Conservatory , she attended the organ class of Michel Bouvard and Olivier Latry in 2000/01 , followed by organ studies with Michael Radulescu and Franz Danksagmüller in Austria from 2002.
Elke Eckerstorfer takes part in some radio and CD recordings and has performed in several European countries as well as in Japan. In 1995, for example, she played the piano at the world premiere of Nancy Van de Vate's children's opera Der Herrscher und das Mädchen as part of the “Kinderklang Festival” in the Theater des Künstlerhaus Wien under the direction of Werner Hackl. The recording was released in 1999 on the Vienna Modern Masters label. She also played the piece Contrasts, for two Pianos, six Hands (1984) on Van de Vate's 1998 album Vol. IV together with Sybille Bouda and Christoph Wigelbeyer .
In 2006 she released a CD with the complete organ works by Balduin Sulzer . With recordings on the Breinbauer organs in Ottensheim and Gramastetten , another CD was released in the Orgellandschaften Oberösterreich series . In 2011 her recording of the organ cycle De profundis by Hans Stadlmair was released , recorded in the Stiftskirche Kremsmünster . Together with Gernot Kahofer, known as the trumpeter of the Blech & Brass Banda , she recorded the album Christmas Trumpet in St. Augustin , released in 2013 on Preiser Records , in the Augustinerkirche in Vienna .
