Elya Baskin

Elya Baskin (born August 11, 1950 in Riga , Latvian SSR ) is an American actor of Latvian descent.

Live and act

After Elya Baskin, who was born in Riga, completed his training as an actor in Moscow , where he also won a prize for the best young actor, he played in several Soviet television and cinema productions .

In 1976 Elya Baskin emigrated to the USA, where he later became naturalized, and continued his acting career there. Due to his Latvian origins and the accent that comes with it, he often played Russian or Eastern European characters in films.

Elya Baskin became known to a wider audience through his roles as Maxim Brajlovsky in 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) and as the healing Severinus of St. Emmeram in The Name of the Rose (1986); to the younger audience through his roles as the landlord of Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 .
