Emilie Olimstad (born November 12, 2000 in Åmli ) is a Norwegian volleyball and beach volleyball player . In the hall, the outside attacker and national player has been active in the Ladies in Black Aachen since 2019 . In the sand, she competed in youth competitions and smaller tournaments on the FIVB World Tour .

Career

Olimstad started her indoor career with Top Volley Norge. The outside attacker played for the Norwegian junior national team. At the beginning of 2019, she made her debut in the senior national team . In the summer of 2019 she was signed by the German Bundesliga club Ladies in Black Aachen . In the 2019/20 season she reached the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup and the European Challenge Cup with Aachen . When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, the Ladies in Black were in seventh place in the table. Olimstad will also play for Aachen in the 2020/21 season.

Olimstad also plays beach volleyball. With Kirstine Larsdatter Garder , she achieved various top ten results at the national tournament series in Norway in 2015 and 2016. The duo took 17th place at the U18 European Championship in Riga in 2015 and was ninth in the U19 World Championship in Larnaka in 2016 and fifth in the U18 European Championship in Brno . She then completed two Northern European NEVZA tournaments with Janne Pedersen . In the following two years, Olimstad played with changing partners. She competed with Pedersen at the CEV satellite tournament in Ljubljana and with Oda Johanne Ulveseth in the same series at the tournament in Vaduz . With Frida Berntsen she came in 17th place at the U18 European Championship 2017 in Kazan and shortly afterwards she was ninth with Karen Elise Lund Saga in the U20 European Championship on Vulcano . In 2018 she took part in the FIVB World Tour for the first time. With Pedersen she was third in the one-star tournament in Baden , with Ingrid Lunde she took part in the four-star tournament in Espinho and with Ulveseth she reached the main field of the tournaments in Gstaad (five stars) and Moscow (four stars). In between, she was fifth with Sunniva Helland-Hansen in the U22 European Championship in Jūrmala . Then she finished ninth with Berntsen in the one-star tournament in Montpellier . The duo also competed at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires , where they won the bronze medal.

family

Olimstad comes from a volleyball family. Her parents and older brother Martin also play volleyball. In 2018, a video went viral with millions of viewers in which the two siblings played against a table.
