Emily O'Hara Ratajkowski [ ˈɛməli ɔˈhɐɹa ˌɹɑtɜˈkaʊ̯ski ] (born June 7, 1991 in London , England , United Kingdom ) is an American model and actress .

Life

Emily Ratajkowski was born to the American painter John David Ratajkowski, whose ancestors came from Poland , and the American professor and writer Kathleen Balgley. Her father was raised Catholic while her mother is Jewish . She grew up in Encinitas in the US state of California on. Because of the artistic activities of her parents, Ratajkowski traveled a lot in different parts of Europe . During her childhood she spent a lot of time in Bantry, Ireland, and on the Spanish island of Mallorca .

At the age of 14, Ratajkowski was signed by the modeling agency Ford Models , but continued to attend high school in San Diego . In 2009 she studied art history for another year at the University of California, Los Angeles , until she decided to pursue her modeling career full-time.

She has worked with well-known clients such as Forever 21 , Nordstrom and Frederick's of Hollywood . However, her breakthrough as a photo model came after she was photographed by photographer Tony Duran for several campaigns . Ratajkowski was on the cover of the treat! Magazine and the Turkish GQ and played along with Sara Jean Underwood in an advertisement of the fast-food chain Carl's Jr. She also had some appearances in music videos such as Fast Car by Taio Cruz and Love Somebody by Maroon 5 . Gained great attention Ratajkowski in April 2013 for her performance in Robin Thickes Music Video Blurred Lines , where she topless can be seen.

Ratajkowski also works as an actress and played the role of Tasha in the Nickelodeon series iCarly .

She has been married to New York actor and film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard since early 2018.
