Emmanuel Okombo

Emmanuel Okombo Wandera (born November 29, 1942 in Bungoma ) is a Kenyan clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Kericho .

Life

Emmanuel Okombo was ordained a priest for the diocese of Kisumu on November 30, 1972 . He was incardinated on April 27, 1987 in the clergy of the Bungoma diocese .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kericho on March 22, 2003 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Kenya, Archbishop Giovanni Tonucci , donated him episcopal ordination on May 24th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Norman King'oo Wambua , Bishop of Bungoma , and Cornelius Kipng'eno Arap Korir , Bishop of Eldoret .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on December 14, 2019.
