History and description

The ensemble comprises the main street of the church village from house numbers 1 and 113 in the south to house no.28 in the north as well as the street that branches off to the church and is angled to the north behind the choir with its buildings.

The population density of the core and the village on the single rooftop dominant, the outer contour aware of the two major Nuremberg churches St. Sebald and St. Lawrence reminiscent late Gothic Parish St. Mary and Christopher are the essential features of the village.

The main street is framed by strictly gable houses and barns of the fruit and hop farmers , which were mainly built in the ashlar construction of the last third of the 19th century from Kalbensteinberg white sandstone with high pitched roofs . The alley branching off to the east of the main road leads to the center of the village, where between the church in the old walled churchyard , also a sandstone block building, the rectory ( house number 70 ), the former Gasthaus Lamm (house number 61) and the old rectory (House number 64) a small square expands.

The von Rieter patrician family from Nuremberg , who held the lordship in the village until 1754 , shaped the appearance of the village through the construction of the church, the old rectory, the rectory and the inn, which also served as an office building.

The townscape is particularly important from the southeast. The renovations and new buildings in the town center as well as the extensions to the farm buildings are occasionally disturbing.
