Erdmann Karl Erasmus Friedrich Freiherr von Reitzenstein (born August 30, 1844 in Ober-Salzbrunn , Waldenburg district , Province of Silesia , † June 28, 1922 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and member of the House of Representatives .

Life

origin

Erdmann line came from Schoenberg to the noble family of Reitsenstein . He was the son of Karl von Reitzenstein (1804–1846) and his wife Adelheid, born von Brandenstein (1817–1886).

Career

Reitzenstein completed a career as an officer in the Prussian army , took part in the war against France in 1870/71 and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. In the further course of his military career he was from February 16, 1892 to July 26, 1894 commander of the Guard Foot Artillery Regiment and then received command of the 2nd Foot Artillery Brigade . With his promotion to lieutenant general on July 9, 1900 Reitzenstein was appointed inspector of the 1st foot artillery inspection and at the same time acted as inspector of the United Artillery and Engineering School . On 12 September 1902 he was placed with the statutory board for disposition .

After his departure he managed his manor Niederweistritz and was a member of the House of Representatives for the constituency of Striegau , city and district of Schweidnitz .

He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John and holder of the Order of the Crown, 1st Class and the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Star and Oak Leaves.

family

Reitzenstein had married Phyllis Freiin von Reitzenstein (* 1852) on October 16, 1872 in Breslau . The son Friedrich-Erdmann (* 1877) emerged from the marriage and married Erna Freiin von Buddenbrock in 1904 .
