Erich Danehl

Erich Danehl (born June 22, 1887 in Osterburg ; † December 23, 1954 ) was a German lawyer , civil servant and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school , Danehl began studying law , which he achieved in 1914 with the assessor exam and the doctorate to become a Dr. jur. finished. Then he entered the Prussian administrative service. From 1920 to 1926 he worked as a councilor at the tax offices in Hanover , Northeim and Zellerfeld , then moved to the Halle police headquarters and in 1927 became head of the state police office in Wandsbek . Since 1927 he was deputy chief of police in Barmen-Elberfeld as senior government councilor . From 1928 to 1932 he served as Chief of Police in Gliwice , 1932-33 as Chief of Police in Wilhelmsburg , then part of the urban district of Harburg-Wilhelmsburg , now part of Hamburg . After his release by the National Socialists, he had contacts with the resistance group around Carl Friedrich Goerdeler .

Danehl was, together with Hans Fritsch, a friend of Kurt Tucholsky , whom they called Karlchen und Jakopp u. a. performed in Gripsholm Castle . They met in Alt-Autz during the First World War .

politics

Danehl served from February 1946 to June 1946 as district administrator for the Northeim district . He was appointed Ministerial Director and from 1946 to 1952 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior of Lower Saxony .
