Ernst-Wilhelm Stojan

Ernst-Wilhelm Stojan (born May 13, 1926 in Oels , Lower Silesia , † July 19, 2018 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Stojan was a student teacher in a monastery when he was drafted in September 1944. He experienced the end of the war on Sylt . Stojan became a teacher and was the principal of a school. In 1956 Stojan was elected chairman of the Westerland Local Workers' Welfare Association on Sylt. He held this office until 1997. Stojan was active in local politics and until 1973 mayor of Westerland.

On June 6, 1964, Stojan was appointed to succeed Jürgen Frenzel as a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . In 1967, 1971, 1975 and 1979 Stojan re-entered the state parliament via the SPD state list . Stojan was a tourism expert for the SPD parliamentary group. He has served on a number of committees including the Economic Committee and the Agriculture and Environmental Protection Committee. In November 1982 Stojan resigned from the state parliament, and Udo Lumma took his place .

Stojan was an honorary member of the Westerland / Sylt Tourist Association, of which he was a founding member and chairman.
