Ernst Adolf Ferdinand Sebastian von Tschammer und Osten (born March 19, 1739 in Klein-Heinzendorf (Glogau district), † December 20, 1812 in Ohlau ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

His father was the man on Hochberg Rudolf Alexander Tschammer and Osten (born March 26, 1709, † February 7, 1790) and his wife Maria Magdalena, née von Wiese.

Military career

Tschammer came to Berlin as a cadet on June 8, 1753 . From there he was employed on March 9, 1758 as a standard junker in the cuirassier regiment "von Seydlitz" and on September 1, 1758 rose to the cornet . He then fought during the Seven Years' War in the battles near Zorndorf , Hochkirch , Liegnitz , Torgau and Reichenbach . During that time he became a lieutenant on January 20, 1761 .

On November 18, 1770 he came as an adjutant inspection to General of the Seydlitz Cavalry . After the general's death, he was transferred to General Roeder on November 24, 1773, the inspector of the Lower Silesian cavalry. On September 2, 1778, he became staff captain and as such took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On December 8, 1779 he became a captain and company commander . On October 26, 1788 he was promoted to major and on March 18, 1794 appointed squadron chief. On May 20, 1798 he was then lieutenant colonel and on May 20, 1799 colonel . On October 1, 1799, he received his resignation as major general with a pension of 600 thalers. He died on December 20, 1812 in Ohlau.

Tschammer married Maximiliane Charlotte Leopoldine von Kreckwitz on September 22, 1776 in Ohlau (* November 16, 1738; † October 8, 1808).
