As chairman of the committee for administrative reform, he played a decisive role in the drafting of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg . On February 22, 1975 there was therefore a demonstration in the Zollernalb district. A car parade about five kilometers long on the federal highway 463 from Weilstetten to Meßstetten presented Erwin Gomeringer with a protest note. When a Kelly Barnes Dam broke on November 6, 1977 in Toccoa (USA) and numerous people were killed, a condolence letter written by Erwin Gomeringer was read out on the American radio.
