Eschenburg (family)
Eschenburg is the surname of a Lübeck- based family of red extinguishers - specialized tanners whose members rose to the top of the city patriciate as Hanseatic merchants and scholars in the 19th century . In the Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann members of the family under the name Huneus outlined.
The Eschenburg family can be found in Lübeck since the end of the 15th century. The common ancestor of the two well-known Lübeck branches of the Eschenburg family was the main pastor of the Jakobikirche
