The first son Angelus was born in Salzburg in 1873, was a builder and architect and lived with his large family alternately in Trentino, Salzburg and Bozen , the home of his wife Emma Koss (* 1880).

Anyone
From the beginning of the festival, under the direction of Max Reinhardt , Eugen Goffriller was the “ Jedermann ” caller. The powerful voice was very suitable for the eerie call that is supposed to sound like from the beyond. Eugen Goffriller played this role from 1920 until his death - for 53 seasons he was the caller from the very top. To do this, he took up a position on the “Katz”, a natural platform halfway up the fortress mountain. Eugen Goffriller spoke about this activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Salzburg Festival in several interviews.
