Eva-Maria Ziege (born 1961 ) is a German sociologist and university professor for political sociology . Her focus in teaching and research is on social theory and the history of ideas in the 20th century and on Jewish studies . She is particularly concerned with anti-Semitism research .

academic career

Eva-Maria Ziege studied political science and sociology at the Universities of Bonn and Potsdam . She did her doctorate in 2001 with a discourse analysis of völkisch anti-Semitism. She then worked as a research assistant at the Department of Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2008 she completed her habilitation in general sociology at the University of Potsdam with a thesis on anti-Semitism and social theory. The Frankfurt School in American exile . She then went to the University of Washington in Seattle as a visiting associate professor of the DAAD . 2010/2011 Eva-Maria Ziege was a Visiting Fellow at the Center for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations (CJCR) of the Woolf Institute at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

In 2012 Eva-Maria Ziege was appointed professor of political sociology at the University of Bayreuth . She gave her inaugural lecture on the subject of the problem of anti-Semitism and the tasks of political sociology .
