biography

After initial successes on a national level - in 1992 she became Austrian student champion in super-G, in 1994 junior champion in combination and in 1995 junior champion in super-G - Rohrgger celebrated her first international successes at the junior world championship in 1995 when she was sixth in the downhill Ranked, and at the 1996 Junior World Championships when she won the bronze medal in the downhill.

From winter 1996/97 she started in the World Cup and achieved her best result for the time being with 18th place in the giant slalom in Zwiesel on January 17th, 1997. Since it was not yet able to establish itself in the World Cup, it was primarily used in the European Cup in the next few years. There she reached in the 1998/99 season with three victories and four further podium places first place in the Super G classification, second place in the overall standings and third place in the giant slalom standings and thus secured a place in the Austrian World Cup team again.

After a few top 20 placements, she finished eighth in the giant slalom in Berchtesgaden in January 2000 and was among the top 10 for the first time in the World Cup. At the beginning of next winter she achieved a tenth place in the giant slalom in Park City , but because the results subsequently deteriorated again, she had to return to the European Cup after the turn of the year. At her next attempt in the World Cup in the 2001/02 season , she finally achieved her best ever World Cup result on January 27, 2002 with seventh place in the giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo . After she had achieved several top 10 placements for the first time in the 2002/03 season , she was nominated for a major event for the first time. At the 2003 World Championships in St. Moritz , however, she landed far behind in 31st place in the giant slalom. She then finished the World Cup season at the finals in Kvitfjell / Hafjell with two eighth places, with which she achieved her best overall results as 16th in the giant slalom and 18th in the Super G World Cup and 28th in the overall standings.

In summer 2003, Rohrgger suffered a cruciate ligament rupture while training in Zermatt , which is why she had to take a break for the entire 2003/04 season. The next winter her best World Cup result was a ninth place in the Super-G at Altenmarkt-Zauchensee , but after the turn of the year the results deteriorated again. After failing to achieve a top 10 result in the 2005/06 season , she ended her career at the age of 29.

She is currently the only woman in World Cup events to be the race director at races ( Hinterstoder )
