Evelyn Edler
Evelyn Edler (born April 8, 1981 in Sangerhausen ) is a German politician of the Die Linke party . From 2011 to 2016 she was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Evelyn Edler was born on April 8, 1981 in Sangerhausen . From 1987 to 1991 she attended the “ Anna Seghers ” elementary school in Rothenschirmbach , from 1991 to 1995 the secondary school in Osterhausen and from 1995 the grammar school in Querfurt , where she graduated from high school in 1999. From 1999 to 2000 she completed a voluntary social year as an au pair in New Jersey , USA . At the Harz University of Applied Sciences , she studied tourism economics ( Wernigerode ) from 2000 to 2004 and administrative economics ( Halberstadt ) from 2005 . In 2009 she graduated with a degree in administrative economics (FH). From 2009 to 2011 Edler worked on the juEx project at the Landesfrauenrat Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. in Magdeburg .
Political and social engagement
In 2006 Edler took part in the mentoring program of the parliamentary group of the Left of Saxony-Anhalt (MdL Eva von Angern ). In 2008 she joined Die Linke in Wernigerode . As part of her studies, she completed an internship in the Left Parliamentary Group in 2009 (Member of the Bundestag Guido Henke ). In the same year she became a founding member of the state working group on urban development and housing policy. Since 2011 she has been a member of the Harz District Executive Committee, which she has chaired since 2016 and represents him as a delegate at the state party conference and the federal party conference. From 2013 to 2015 Edler was a member of the board of the educational association “Kommunalpolitische forum” Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. at. Since 2013 she has been a member of the state executive of the party Die Linke Sachsen-Anhalt. In 2014 Edler was elected to the district council of the Harz district and to the city council of Wernigerode.

On September 18, 2010, Edler was unanimously elected as a direct candidate in state parliament constituency 16 ( Wernigerode , Oberharz am Brocken , Harzgerode , Allrode ). In the state elections on March 20, 2011, she moved to position 19 in the 6th state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . In the state parliament Edler held the function of the spokeswoman for administrative modernization and belonged to the finance committee as a full member and the interior committee as well as the state development and transport committee as a deputy member. Edler was a deputy chairwoman of the study commission set up in 2012 in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt at the request of the Die Linke parliamentary group. In 2013 Edler was named as a deputy member of the Sports Board of Trustees of Saxony-Anhalt.
