Season course
After TJ Slávia CAISSA Čadca took the lead, they fell back after they only achieved one draw in rounds 8 to 10. With the defending champion ŠK HOFFER Komárno , the ŠO TJ Slávia UPJŠ Košice and the ŠK Slovan Bratislava three teams had a chance for the title before the last round. Bratislava defeated Komárno, but this was only enough for second place, as Košice also won in the last round. The ŠK Bašta Nové Zámky was clear already relegated before the last round. In purely sporting terms , the ŠK Liptov would also have been relegated, but this still managed to stay in the league as the ŠK HOFFER Komárno withdrew his team.
