Extraliga (Slovakia, chess) 2013/14

The Extraliga 2013/14 was the 22nd season of the Slovak Extraliga in chess .

Participating teams and mode

At the start were with ŠK Slovan Bratislava , ŠK Dunajská Streda , TJ INBEST Dunajov , ŠK Doprastav Bratislava , TJ Slávia CAISSA Čadca , SKS Dubnica , SO TJ Slávia Šafárik University Košice , ŠK Liptov Liptovsky Mikulas , ŠK PK Trenčín and SO TJ Slávia Košice the top ten the Extraliga 2012/13 , in addition, ŠO ŠKM Stará Ľubovňa and the second team of ŠK Slovan Bratislava were promoted from the 1st division. The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament on eight boards.The number of team points (three points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a Winning game, half a point for a draw game, no point for a losing game). The last two were relegated and replaced by the winners of both seasons of the 1st league.

Events

The competitions took place on November 9th and 10th, December 7th and 8th 2013, January 25th and 26th and March 8th, 9th, 28th, 29th and 30th 2014.

Season course

The TJ INBEST Dunajov and the ŠK Dunajská Streda fought a duel for the title, which Streda won in a direct comparison in the last lap. The TJ Slávia TU Košice lost all competitions and was prematurely relegated, the decision on the second relegated was made in the last round. The ŠK PK Trenčín was overtaken by both the second team of the ŠK Slovan Bratislava and the ŠKŠ Dubnica and was relegated. The decision was extremely tight, Trenčín and Bratislava's second team were tied for team and board points, only the direct comparison decided against Trenčín.
