Extraliga (Slovakia, chess) 2011/12

The 2011/12 Extraliga was the 20th season of the Slovak Extraliga in chess .

Participating teams and mode

At the start were with TJ Slávia CAISSA Čadca , 7 Statočných Kosice , TJ INBEST Dunajov , ŠK Prievidza , ŠK Dunajská Streda , ŠK PK Trenčín , ŠK Slovan Bratislava , SKS Dubnica , ŠK Modra and MŠK Kežmarok KdV the top ten of the Extra League 2010/11 , in addition, the ŠK Magic Liptov and the ŠK Doprastav Bratislava were promoted from the 1st division. The twelve teams played a simple round-robin tournament on eight boards.The number of team points (three points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a Winning game, half a point for a draw game, no point for a losing game). The last two were relegated and replaced by the winners of both seasons of the 1st league.

Events

The competitions took place on October 22nd and 23rd, November 26th and 27th 2011, January 14th and 15th, February 11th and 12th and March 9th, 10th and 11th 2012.

Season course

7 Statočných Košice was in a class of its own and won the championship before the last lap. The ŠK Prievidza was determined prematurely as relegated, for the second relegation place before the last lap the ŠK Modra , the ŠKŠ Dubnica and the MŠK KdV Kežmarok came into question. All three relegation candidates lost their last competition, so Kežmarok was relegated.
