Ezekiel David Fryers (born September 9, 1992 in Manchester ), often called Zeki for short , is an English football player who can be used both in external and central defense and in defensive midfield . He is under contract with Barnsley FC .

Career

Manchester United

Fryers has been playing for the Premier League representative Manchester United since he was nine . There he went through all youth teams and was appointed to the professional squad in the 2010/11 season . Due to a protracted injury, however, he was not used this season. Finally, he made his competitive debut in the following season in September 2011 in the 3-0 Carling Cup against Leeds United . In United's 2-0 win against Oțelul Galați , he played for the first time in front of a home crowd and also made his first appearance in the Champions League . On December 10, 2011 he was substituted on in the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers (4-1) for Patrice Evra and thus appeared for the first time in the league for his team.

For the 2012/13 season Fryers moved to the Belgian first division club Standard Liège , with whom he signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2014.

In January 2013, Fryers moved back to England and joined Tottenham Hotspur . There he was initially in the U-21 squad until he was promoted to the first team's squad for the 2013/14 season.

On September 1, 2014, Fryers moved to Crystal Palace . He signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2017. After he had only come to a short stint in the first half of the season, Fryers was awarded in January 2015 for two months to the second division Rotherham United . This was followed by another loan to Ipswich Town in March 2015 until the end of the season.

National team

Fryers was in the U-16, the U-17 and the U-19 junior national team of England for use. The U-16 won the tournament in Montaigu in 2008 .
