International

Stralsund University maintains international contacts with more than 70 universities. Internationally-oriented courses allow students to study completely or partially in English. Two fully English-language bachelor's programs International Management Studies in the Baltic Sea Region (BMS) and Leisure and Tourism Management are offered. Three English-language master’s courses are Tourism Development Strategies , Simulation and System Design and Renewable Energy and E-Mobility . In some degree programs, it is possible to obtain a double degree in four semesters at the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences and at a partner university at the same time. In the Tourism Development Strategies master’s course, for example, a double degree at the Stralsund University and the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale in Dunkerque is possible. In the electrical engineering degree program, a double degree with various focuses ( Electrotechnics , Renewable Energy and E-Mobility or Automation and Mechatronics ) is possible at the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences and the St. Petersburg University of Electrical Engineering.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science annually organizes the two-week International Spring School, in which foreign students deal with the topics of fuel cells and hydrogen technology as well as current aspects of renewable energies in lectures and laboratory internships.

In the 2019/20 winter semester, 362 students from abroad were studying at the university, making the proportion of international students 15.34%.

Partner in applied research

As a university of applied sciences, Stralsund University maintains a mutual exchange with companies, institutions and citizens. In addition to the two areas of teaching and research, this is an essential task in order to jointly use the potential of the actors from science, business and society. The transfer projects are based on the research focus of the university.

The Stralsund University of Applied Sciences cooperates with the following partners, among others:

Regular events

  • SUPA - S tralsunder U nternehmens-, P raktikanten- and A bsolventenbörse. One of the largest career fairs in northern Germany with an average of 130 exhibitors, which takes place on the campus of HS Stralsund. The company contact fair offers a meeting point for companies, institutions and facilities every two years with the IT fair. The aim of the fair is to make supply and demand on the labor market transparent and to bring those involved together.
  • REGWA - Symposium for REG enerative energies and WA sserstofftechnologie of the Institute for Regenerative Energy Systems (IRES) at the University of Stralsund. Lecturers give lectures on topics related to the energy transition for those interested in the mobility and energy sectors. Annually changing topics include a. Energy networks / energy feed and energy storage, energy efficiency and environmental protection, sector coupling, hydrogen infrastructure and fuel cell applications, maritime applications, heat management, wind energy, photovoltaics / solar thermal energy, hybridization of drives and energy supply systems and statutory regulations on energy policy.
  • STeP - S tralsunder T agungen for e uccessful P artnerships is an initiative of HS Stralsund in cooperation with the Stralsund Mittelstand eV and the economic development of the city of Stralsund. Through an exchange of experience and know-how transfer between students and professors of the university with regional business representatives, concrete solutions for current business problems and challenges are developed. As part of the cooperation, projects such as the development of a model, the initiation of the city brand or the implementation of modern management techniques in the company are initiated and accompanied through to implementation. Once a year, the STeP congress takes place in the Stralsund town hall, where entrepreneurs, scientists, managers and other interested parties meet for lectures, discussions and networking.

  • Studium generale . During the lecture period, usually once a month, lectures on various topics from science and business are held as part of the lecture series "Studium generale" at the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences.

students life

In the Baltic Racing team, students from all faculties regularly take part in the world's largest competition for young engineers, the Formula Student , with their self-developed racing car .

The ThaiGer-H²-Racing-Team is an interdisciplinary student project in which hydrogen-powered racing cars are developed and built. Students learn and develop processes for the use of renewable energies, vehicle construction, management, administration and public relations. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 the team won the European championship in the Prototype category at the Shell Eco-Marathon , one of the world's largest mobility efficiency competitions.

The third racing team develops, designs and manufactures a functional, optimized and innovative racing motorcycle prototype. MariTeamRacing was the first team in Germany to successfully take part in the MotoStudent in the “Petrol” category.

The Holzhausen student dormitory , which is operated by the Greifswald Student Union , is also located on campus .

The student management consultancy Stralsund e. V. organizes seminars for students and events at the HS, such as the IT fair VITA and the SUPA career fair. In addition, through membership, students can gain practical experience in working with regional and nationwide companies.

Linux workshops , Linux days and LAN parties are offered by students who mainly belong to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science . You are in the student IT association Sund-Xplosion e. V. organized.

Every year at the end of the semester in June, students organize an open-air concert under the name Campus Spektakel on the campus of HS Stralsund. Regionally and nationally known bands perform there. These students are at Carpe Diem e. V. organizes and operates Knuts Bar , a student cellar in downtown Stralsund.
