The Fahrendorfer Canal or Fahrendahl-Fahrendorfer Canal is a left tributary of the Oste in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district in Lower Saxony , Germany . Its origin lies in the northeastern local area of Brillit in Gnarrenburg .

The Fahrendorfer Canal arises from a lake in the northeastern area of Brillit in Gnarrenburg. The canal has a gently meandering line, runs next to Brillit through the towns of Fahrendorf , Basdahl and Spreckens , where it finally flows into the Oste.
Except for the K102 in Spreckens, the Fahrendorfer Canal does not meet any major traffic routes, but mostly runs through moor, meadow and smaller forest areas.

The bank of the canal is not paved, so there is strong vegetation in the canal and bank area. In the section of the canal in Fahrendorf, the vegetation consists primarily of hedgehog cob , arrowhead , pondweed , waterweed and water star as well as duckweed . In Spreckens primarily from pond roses , hedgehog cob and arrowhead.
Water quality
The biological water quality investigation is carried out in 1994, the chemical-physical water analysis in 1996. The Fahrendorfer Canal was classified in quality class II-III. There are increased concentrations of ammonium and coliform bacteria in the water .
Trivia
The Lower Saxony State Agency for Water Management, Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation lists the Fahrendorfer Canal as a water body "WK 30021 Fahrendorfer Canal" and classifies it as "Water without priority".
