Falk Hentschel (born April 26, 1985 in Leipzig ) is a German actor and dancer .

life and career

Falk Hentschel was born as one of two sons in Leipzig in the former GDR . The family fled to West Germany seven months before the wall came down. Hentschel was raised bilingual, in German and English, and traveled a lot in his life.

He later moved to London , where he worked as a background dancer for music greats such as Mariah Carey , Britney Spears and Paulina Rubio . Hentschel is also active as a choreographer, for example for dance interludes in music videos. He made a name for himself in Canada and Asia , for example .

From 2003 he moved to Los Angeles to realize his dream of an acting career. He made his debut in 2005 with a guest appearance on an episode of the Arrested Development series . This was followed by appearances in short and low-budget films before he made his feature film debut in 2010 alongside Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz as Bernhard in Knight and Day . As a result, he was mainly in guest roles in US series, including The Closer , Navy CIS: LA , CSI: Vegas , Revenge and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

2012 saw Hentschel as Ash in the dance film StreetDance 2 . He also booked supporting roles in White House Down and Transcendence . In 2014 he took on a recurring role as Arliss Fulton in the series Reckless . In 2015 he took on the role of Carter Hall / Hawkman in the fictional Arrowverse with his appearance in The Flash . In this role he has also appeared in Arrow and in a leading role in Legends of Tomorrow (2016).

In contrast to the majority of German-speaking actors who work in foreign productions, he does not do his dubbing himself.
