Fanny Matilda Charlotta Roos (born January 2, 1995 in Ekenäs ) is a Swedish shot putter and discus thrower .
Athletic career
In 2011 Fanny Roos took part in the World Youth Championships in Lille , where she finished tenth. At the Junior World Championships in 2012 she was eliminated in qualification, as was the case at the 2013 Junior European Championships in Rieti . At the Junior World Championships in 2014, she finished sixth with a new Swedish junior record of 16.29 m.
In 2015 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Prague , where she was eliminated again in the preliminary round. At the U23 European Championships in Tallinn , she was fourth. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she was eliminated in qualification. In 2017, she narrowly missed a medal in fourth place at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade . In addition, she set a new Swedish indoor record there. In the outdoor season she improved the Swedish U23 record several times and qualified for the World Championships in London in June with a throw over 18 meters . At the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , she won the gold medal ahead of Poland's Klaudia Kardasz with 18.14 meters. At the World Championships she was eliminated with 17.31 m in qualification .
In 2018 she hit the ball at 17.23 m at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , making it 13th. In August, she took eleventh place at the European Championships in Berlin with 17.09 m and sixth at the 2019 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 8.21 m .
From 2014 to 2019 , she secured the Swedish championship in outdoor shot put every year and also won a medal in discus throwing between 2015 and 2017. In the hall, too, she secured the title every year between 2014 and 2019.
