history

Farewell, My Love was founded in Phoenix , Arizona in 2011 and currently consists of singer Ryan Howell, guitarists Logan Thayer and Röbbey Creasey (also on keyboards ), drummer Chad Kowal, and bassist Charlee Conley. In the same year the quintet was able to release their debut EP A Dance You Won't Forget on their own. A music video for the piece Portraits premiered on BryanStars' Youtube channel , which allowed the band to gain greater prominence.

At the beginning of 2013, the record company StandBy Records , who were already able to help scene greats such as Black Veil Brides or Hopes Die Last to be more successful, signed. On February 19, 2013 the EP Mirror, Mirror was released with five tracks under the label. A lyrics video was released for the song of the same name. Between April and May 2013, the band toured with Her Bright Skies from Sweden and the Finnish rock band Snow White's Poison Bite on the BryanStars tour through the United States . Immediately after the Bryan Stars tour, the group was together with the Canadian screamo band Chomp Chomp Attack! as opening act for Snow White's Poison Bite on tour, which also led through the States and Canada . During these months the band played a total of 75 concerts.

The musicians recorded their debut album at Studio D Productions in Cleveland , Ohio with producer Don Debiase, who has already worked for label colleagues Modern Day Escape , Beneath the Sky and For All Those Sleeping . Gold Tattoos , the title of the debut album, was released on September 10, 2013. On September 1, 2014, the group announced that their previous singer Ryan Howell and guitarist Logan Thayer had left the group. Chad Kowal has been named the new lead singer. The band plans to go into the studio at the end of the year to work on a new album which will be released in early 2015. On December 9, 2014, Wrapped Up In Pinstripes was another EP, on which songs from earlier releases were re-set to music as acoustic versions.

style

Farewell, My Love play a mix of post-hardcore (without using screams or shouts ), alternative rock and gothic rock . The musicians themselves name bands like My Chemical Romance , Avenged Sevenfold , AFI and 30 Seconds to Mars as musical influences. The lyrics are written on a melancholy, dark level. The music is also comparable to HIM or Blood on the Dance Floor .
