Products

That among other Faro, mobile 3D - Messtechnik has prevailed in recent decades in industrial production. Over conventional measurement techniques it has ( measuring table , calipers , gauges , gauges etc.) numerous advantages. With mobile 3D measurement technology, it is possible to measure components and systems directly in production or in the production process. This means that production errors (inaccuracies, deviations from the norm) can be detected more quickly than with conventional quality assurance, as the measurement can be carried out directly on the component without having to transport it to a measuring room, where the measurement would be carried out with traditional 3D coordinate measuring machines.

In addition, objects are measured or 3D spaces are recorded without contact, which enables the products to be used in numerous industries beyond product manufacture, for example when recording historical sites. 3D measurement technology is also regularly used in forensic medicine , accident research and medical technology .

Faro serves the market of portable measuring technology with different products: Faro Gage and FaroArm are handheld measuring devices. They are used on site during production, e.g. to measure smaller components. The Faro Laser Tracker is suitable for recording larger volumes . Entire factories can be documented with the Faro Focus 3D Laser Scanner X 330 . While the Gage has a working radius of 60 centimeters, the laser scanner also measures points 330 meters away with an accuracy of 2 millimeters.

In addition, computer-aided design- based measurement and reporting software from the CAM2 software family is offered.

Customers

Faro sells its products to companies from different sectors, such as aviation and aerospace , the automotive industry or the construction and civil engineering . Customers include Airbus , Boeing , BMW , Daimler , Ford , Siemens , MAN , General Electric , Volkswagen and Samson Mess- und Regeltechnik . On the one hand, Faro has large blue-chip companies among its customer base. On the other hand, almost 75 percent of FARO customers come from small to medium-sized companies.
