The Favorites Film Festival Berlin (short: FFFBerlin) is an international film festival that has been held annually in Berlin since 2011 . Films of all lengths, genres and genres that have previously won an audience award at an international festival will be shown. The initiators of the festival, Paula Syniawa and Anna Jurzik, are members of the non-profit organization Favorite Films e. V. organized.

In 2013, the 3rd edition took place from August 21st to 25th in the Kulturfabrik Moabit . In 2013 there was also a Favorites Film Festival in Bremen for the first time (June 20-23).

All the festival prizes are awarded by the audience. In addition to classic ballot voting, there are forms of playful live voting as part of the “Favorite Shorts Night”.

background

In its audience approach, the FFF ties in with the current discussion about the role of film festivals. Here niche films, films from countries beyond Germany, the USA or France, documentaries or short films that rarely reach regular cinemas find their way to the audience.

The FFF concentrates on the audience at all levels and shows films that have not been awarded by an expert jury, but by the festival audience themselves. It brings festival favorites from different countries together and thus offers a cross-section of what drives filmmakers and viewers alike.
