history
Unterdombach was first mentioned in a document as Tampach in 1434 . It was probably founded around 1193 by the Starhembergers . Like the neighboring villages, it has been raided and devastated many times throughout its history.
In 1850, when the local communities were created after the 1848/49 revolution , the Unterdombach tax community was incorporated into the Wenireith community . She came to Buch-Geiseldorf in 1969 when Wenireith became part of the Hartberg Umgebung community .
Until 2012 the place belonged to the Hartberg district . Since January 1st, 2013 Unterdombach belongs to the newly created municipality Buch-St. Magdalena.
Attractions
The massive wayside cross , a six meter high village cross in the form of a niche pillar , was rebuilt in 2007, and August 15, 2007 with dean Dr. Josef Reisenhofer officially inaugurated.
Originally there was a wayside shrine from the beginning of the 18th century, which was probably built after the Kuruc invasion in 1704. The frescoes in the semi-circular niches were created by the painter Adolf Osterider and were made for a restoration in 1959. They showed the Coronation of Mary , the Holy Family and the Saints Pankratius , Florian and Notburga , three of the helpers in need . The village cross was a listed building , but "a new one was built due to the structural damage".
