coat of arms

Coat of arms Buch-Geiseldorf

Blazon :

"Four golden beech leaves growing in a cross shape from a common origin in a red shield ."

The four beech leaves - speaking as such - symbolized the four parts of the municipality Oberbuch, Unterbuch, Geiseldorf and Dombach. The color of the shield refers to the founder of Geiseldorf , Gisela von Assach. The name Gisela "Geisel" is derived from the blood witness , which is what the red stands for.

The design of the coat of arms comes from Gernot Peter Obersteiner , Graz.

Since April 1, 2001 (Awarded: March 5, 2001, LGB1. 2001, 6th item, No. 16) Buch-Geiseldorf was entitled to use its own coat of arms. With the community association, it officially became invalid. The new municipal coat of arms for the merged municipality was designed in accordance with the Styrian regional government so that "if possible, both municipal coats of arms are retained in the new coat of arms".
