Lemberg is a place in Eastern Styria , not far from the Burgenland border, and is a locality and cadastral municipality of the municipality of Buch-St. Magdalena in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district .

geography

The Rotte is located on the northern edge of the Eastern Styrian Riedelland , 45 kilometers east of Graz, about 8½ kilometers southeast of Hartberg . It is around 430  m above sea level. A. on the eastern slope of the Riedl, which separates the valley of the Hartberger Safen from the Lafnitztal , so already in the catchment area of ​​the latter, below Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg with its famous church. Today, Lemberg has largely grown together with St. Magdalena and Grubberg on the other side of the Riedl. The local area forms the Nebenriedl, which grazes south-east, between Mitterndorfbach north and Längenbach south, which then flow together to the Angerbach near Neudau of the Lafnitz . The place belongs to the Thermenland region .

The village has almost 80 buildings with around 240 residents. Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg itself, which is only a small group around the church , also belongs to the local area . Magdalena am Lemberg  (002) corresponds to the local area .

Mitterndorf is part of the Lemberg cadastral community , which has around 303  hectares .

history

The place Lemberg developed around the important Magdalenenkirche . As early as the first half of the 18th century there was a school near the church where a hermit taught. In 1784 the parish was established. This still exists today as the elementary school St. Magdalena am Lemberg .

With the creation of the local congregations after 1848/49 , a congregation was set up that was initially called Lemberg , but then soon became Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg . The main town was always Lviv, which was larger at the time.

Since January 1st 2013 Lemberg belongs to the new municipality Buch-St. Magdalena . There it continues to form a locality as well as a cadastral community.
