Federico Cardinal Callori di Vignale (born December 15, 1890 in Vignale Monferrato , Province of Alessandria , Italy , † August 10, 1971 in Vatican City ) was a Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Federico Callori di Vignale studied in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University and at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, the subjects Catholic theology and philosophy . He received on 16 December 1917, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as an assistant to the Pontifical secret chamberlain and as pastor in various churches of Rome. In 1935 he became canon of the Vatican basilica and apostolic protonotary , in 1958 he took over the duties of majordomo in the apostolic palace .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on 15 February 1965. Titular Archbishop of Maiuca and took him shortly afterwards, on 22 February, when cardinal deacon with the title Diakonie San Giovanni Bosco in Via Tuscolana in the College of Cardinals on. The episcopal ordination received Federico Callori di Vignale by Eugène Cardinal Tisserant , the Dean of the College of Cardinals , on 21 February of the same year in St. Peter's Basilica ; Co- consecrators were Diego Venini , Almsman of His Holiness , and Pericle Felici , General Secretary of the Second Vatican Council .

Federico Cardinal Callori di Vignale died on August 10, 1971 in Vatican City and was buried in his family's chapel in Vignale Monferrato.
