Ferdinand Fischer (Author)

Ferdinand GB "Ferdy" Fischer (born September 2, 1936 in Arnsberg ) is a German author .

Live and act

Ferdinand Fischer attended elementary school , high school and a commercial college , which he graduated as a hotel clerk. He worked in his parents' restaurant business, studied German , art history and history and then worked as a teacher. In 1976 he was exempted from teaching and worked as a media educator and head of a media center .

Then he became a freelance writer. He publishes illustrated books , leisure and travel guides (especially for children and families), books on folklore and local history topics (especially on North Rhine-Westphalia and especially on the Sauerland ) as well as historical novels . He writes features and scripts for radio plays, for example for West German Radio , North German Radio , Bavarian Radio and Deutschlandradio . For the TV program of ARD he worked on the series On bright days and No beautiful land .

Ferdinand Fischer published his articles under the name Ferdy Fischer until 1997 , after which he used the names Ferdinand GB Fischer and Ferdinand Fischer . He has lived in Landau in the Palatinate since 2008 . He is married to Karin Fischer, who is the co-author of several books and who supports him with research.
