Ferdinand Sander (born October 10, 1840 in Rastatt ; † May 14, 1920 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a tobacco manufacturer, secret councilor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Ferdinand Sander was a son of the Baden lawyer and member of the state parliament Adolf Sander (1801-1845) and attended high school and the cadet house in Karlsruhe . He traveled extensively and first became an authorized signatory, then a partner and finally head of the Lotzbeck tobacco factory in Lahr , with whom he was born through his grandmother Henriette Sander. Lotzbeck was related. He was also a member of the Baden I. Chamber from 1881 to 1906 and a member of the Chamber of Commerce for the Offenburg district , as well as the Railway Council.

From 1881 to 1887 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Baden 6 ( Lahr , Wolfach ) and the National Liberal Party .

Ferdinand Sander married Sofie Friederike von Boeckh (1845–1923) in Frankfurt am Main in 1865 , the granddaughter of the Baden official and politician Christian Friedrich von Boeckh . She had six children between 1866 and 1880. On September 11, 1899, Ferdinand Sander was made an honorary citizen of Lahr. After his death in Freiburg he was transferred to Lahr and buried there.
