Christian Friedrich Boeckh , from 1825 von Boeckh (born August 13, 1777 in Karlsruhe , † December 21, 1855 ibid) was a Baden civil servant and politician. From 1844 to 1846 he was the successor to Blittersdorf's Minister of State.

Life

Boeckh studied 1799 to 1802 at the University of Jena and at the University of Heidelberg cameralistics and then joined the Baden civil service. In 1810 he was appointed to the Finance Council and, together with Karl Friedrich Nebenius, was commissioned to introduce a uniform tax system in Baden. In 1815 Boeckh was appointed secret trainee lawyer. In 1820 he became director of the Chamber of Accounts, in 1821 State Councilor and, as the successor to Karl Friedrich Freiherr von Fischer, who died in office, head of the Ministry of Finance. In 1828 he was promoted to Minister of Finance. In this function he promoted the admission of Baden to the Zollverein in 1835, which was operated by Nebenius . Boeckh was appointed Minister of State in November 1844 and retired in March 1846.

The classical philologist and antiquarian August Boeckh was his brother. His granddaughter Sophie Friederike later married the tobacco manufacturer and politician Ferdinand Sander .

Boeckhstrasse in Karlsruhe's south-west town was named after him.
