Karl Friedrich Freiherr von Fischer (born December 3, 1756 in Karlsruhe ; † October 9, 1821 there ) was a Baden minister.

Life

Fischer began a civil service career and was 1792 Councilor in the service of the Margrave Karl Friedrich von Baden and 1800 the Privy Councilor transported. On March 21, 1803 Fischer was appointed head of the administration of justice in the War Commission. In this capacity he was the chief military judge.

In 1808 he became director of the Grand Ducal Baden War College and thus head of the military administration and quasi war minister.

In April 1819, Fischer was raised to the status of hereditary baron by Grand Duke Ludwig and appointed Minister of Finance. In the sessions of the 1st and 2nd Baden State Parliaments in 1819 and 1820, Fischer was one of the members of the first chamber of the Baden Assembly of Estates appointed by the Grand Duke . The criticism of the 1st Baden state parliament of 1819 on his draft budget prompted him to propose to the Grand Duke a breach of the constitution to disempower the Baden assembly of estates, but this did not find a majority in the cabinet.

His son Carl Friedrich von Fischer also entered the Baden civil service.
