Ferdinand Seebacher (born July 5, 1989 in Oberndorf near Salzburg ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Ferdinand Seebacher grew up in Schladming in Styria . After graduating from high school, he moved to Vienna to become an actor. He received support from the actor Peter Strauss , a childhood friend of his father's. In autumn 2009 he began studying acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz , graduating in 2013 with a diploma. In his diploma thesis, he processed the last seven days of his grandmother's life into a stage play. During his studies he performed at the Festival at Weitra Castle , with the Salzburg Street Theater and in the Graz Schauspielhaus . In 2012 he played the role of Tom in Die Glasmenagerie at the Vienna Volkstheater .

After completing his studies, he was engaged by the Stadttheater Heilbronn , where he was a member of the ensemble from 2013 to 2015 and, among others, as Léon in Madame Bovary , as Cléante in Der Geizige , as Melchior in Spring Awakening , as Camille in Dantons Tod and as Conti in Emilia Galotti and embodied the pilot Lars Koch in Terror by Ferdinand von Schirach in 2016 . In the 2015/16 season he was seen in the title role in Peterchens Mondfahrt at the Staatstheater Darmstadt .

In 2017 he shot for the television film Steirerkind from the series Landkrimi , in which he played the role of ski racer Mario Walch. He was also in front of the camera for the filming of the film The Last Party of Your Life by Dominik Hartl . At the Schauspielhaus Graz he played the role of Jonas in the stage version of Joseph Roth's Hiob in the 2017/18 season .

In March 2019 it became known that after Markus Brandl left, he would take on a leading role in the ZDF television series Die Bergretter . In the series he has played the role of Simon Plattner since the 11th season. Ferdinand Seebacher's grandmother was the painter Rosina Plattner (1931–2017).

In the ARD film Verliebt auf Island (2019), he played Claudia, her fiancé Alex, alongside Ann-Kathrin Kramer . In Just with You Together (2020), the acting debut of pop singer Vanessa Mai as pop star Juli, he played her doctor Mateusz.
