The Fichtsee nature reserve in Sindelsbachfilz is located in the Weilheim-Schongau district in Upper Bavaria in the area of the Sindelsdorf community .
The 129.74 hectare area with the number NSG-00026.01, which was placed under nature protection in 1940 , extends southeast of the core town of Sindelsdorf. The Sindelsbach flows on the northern edge and the Loisach not far to the east . The A 95 runs to the west and the B 472 to the north . To the east lies the Benediktbeuern airfield .
