Protection goals

The Magnetsrieder Hardt is part of the Eberfinger Drumlinfeld in the Upper Bavarian moraine landscape. Between the partly wooded drumlins, it contains moored areas up to intact raised bogs. The complexes of raised, transitional and fens should be preserved, as well as littered meadows, poor grassland and extensive meadows with swamp gladiolus on the drumlin flanks. The diversity of flora and fauna is dependent on maintaining the direct relationship between the types of habitat . The stabilization of the natural water balance and the specific nutrient and mineral balance also promotes the maintenance of living conditions for numerous protected species.

Local recreational opportunities are offered by hiking trails in the area, including within the protected area. Volunteers and organizations such as the Bund Naturschutz take care of the maintenance and keeping the moor areas open.
