Fiete Münzner

Fiete Münzner (born August 5, 1946 in Cuxhaven as Jens Münzner ; † March 4, 2015 in Seelze ) was a German musician and moderator , who was particularly known in northern Germany as an interpreter of sea shanties.

Life

Münzner was born in 1946 in the Berensch district of Cuxhaven . He worked as a pastry chef and pastry chef at sea and began as a singer in early 1970. Initially as an interpreter of Elvis songs, he won a talent competition in the famous Star Club in Hamburg in 1972 . But soon he devoted himself to the field of sea shanties and shanties and took Hans Albers and Freddy Quinn as role models.

In 1974 he published his first record from port to port under the stage name Fiete from Hamburg . Another record company released two records shortly afterwards under the title Singen und Lachen mit Fiete . His humorous talent, especially in live performances, earned him the nickname “ captain of good humor” . Münzner quickly established himself as one of the most famous folk and mood singers and reached the top ranks in numerous radio hit parades. He also had numerous appearances on television, including at the ZDF Sunday concert, in the programs Haifischbar and Current Schaubude as well as several other productions by ARD and NDR . In the program Bi uns to Hus - The North German Hit Parade , he won first place in 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2001.

Since 2003, the Munich-based producer, director and presenter of the show stories from the harbor bar at the television station Deutsches Musik Fernsehen . He has also appeared as a singer on numerous cruises and has released CDs, most recently often together with the singer Uta Carina . He published a total of more than 30 records.

Münzner died on March 4, 2015 after a serious illness. He lived with his family in Almhorst near Seelze for over 30 years until his death . He left behind his wife, three children and six grandchildren.
