Fikret Demirer (born March 13, 1961 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish soccer player and soccer coach. Through his many years of work for Beşiktaş Istanbul and as a home-grown man, he is very strongly associated with this club. So he was part of the Beşiktaş 'team that won the Turkish championship again in the 1981/82 season after 15 years without a title . He later played four seasons for Sarıyer GK and was one of the service providers in the heyday of this club, which took place in the second half of the 1980s.

Player career

society

Demirer began with club football in the youth of the traditional Istanbul club Beşiktaş Istanbul . Here he was added to the professional squad for the second half of the 1977/78 season by the then head coach Doğan Andaç . He made his debut for the professional team at the first division meeting on April 7, 1979 against Adanaspor . In the further course of the season Demirer completed eight more league games and scored his first goal in the away game against MKE Kırıkkalespor . At the end of the season, Andaç was replaced by Serpil Hamdi Tüzün . Under Tüzün Demirer came again and again to short appearances, but did not make it into the starting eleven. In the season 1980/81 his team occupied after two unsuccessful years with the fifth place in the table again a place in the table in the upper half of the table. For the 1981/82 season was Đorđe Milić set as the new head coach. Under this, Demirer was also only a substitute player, but secured crucial points for his club with his two goals this season. At the end of the season, the team reached the Turkish championship they had been hoping for for fifteen years . This season the Demirers team fought head-to-head for the Turkish championship with the Anatolian club Trabzonspor , which dominated Turkish football at the time . In the end, Beşiktaş prevailed and became Turkish football champions again after fifteen years. In the next two seasons Demirer gradually established himself as a regular player. His club Beşiktaş had no chance in the championship again during this time. The only ray of hope the team reached the cup final in the summer of 1984 and lost to Trabzonspor. Since the opponent also won the championship, Beşiktaş qualified for the UEFA Cup . In addition, the pre-season TSYD Istanbul Cup was won in the 1983/84 season . It was not until the 1984/85 season that the team was able to play again for the championship and retained the chance of the championship until the last day of the match. In the end, the championship was awarded to arch-rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul with one point difference . In the first division season 1985/86 Demirer's team delivered this time over the entire season with arch-rivals Galatasaray Istanbul a head-to-head race for the Turkish championship. The team only secured this on the last day of the match, level on points with Galatasaray, thanks to the better goal difference. The team also won the President's Cup and the Navy Cup this season . The next season they won the Prime Minister's Cup , but awarded the championship to Galatasaray with one point difference.

At the end of the 1986/87 season he could not agree with Beşiktaş to extend his contract. After first negotiating with arch rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul, he moved to another city and league rival with Sarıyer GK . At his new club he quickly won a regular place and thereby contributed to the fact that his club reached the best first division placement in the club's history with 4th place in the table at the end of the 1988/89 season. By the summer of 1991 he was once table fifth in the league and once again fourth with his club.

After the 1990/91 season he left the Istanbul team and moved to the capital city representative MKE Ankaragücü within the 1st Lig . He played for this club for two seasons and ended his career in the summer of 1993.

Demirer was nominated for the first time in the squad for the Turkish senior team in September 1984 as part of a friendly against the national team of the USSR . In this game he made his international debut. In the same year he completed two more senior internationals.

After practicing this job for a year and a half, he started as a youth coach for his former club Beşiktaş Istanbul in 2000 . He carried out this job until the summer of 2002 and then moved to Gebzespor as head coach . Between 2005 and 2011 worked in various activities for the young Beşiktaş '.
