Finta is a municipality in the county Dâmboviţa in the historical region Wallachia in Romania . The seat of the municipality is Finta Mare .

Geographical location

The municipality of Finta is located in the plains of Great Wallachia ( Muntenia ) on the left bank of the Ialomița . On the upper reaches of the Ialomița and on the county road (Drum județean) DJ 720A, the parish seat of Finta Mare is about 28 kilometers northeast of the small town of Titu ; the district capital Târgovişte is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Finta.

The history of settlement in the region goes back to the Middle Ages . On the area of ​​the place Finta Mare - called Islaz by the locals - finds of a settlement were made.

The main occupation of the population is agriculture and livestock.

  • In Finta Mare the Romanian Orthodox Church Sf. Nicolae , built in 1721 and renovated in 1851, the old town hall, built in 1910, and the entire property of the noble Hulea family , built at the end of the 19th century, are listed as historical monuments.
