The Ialomița in Romania

The Ialomița ( pronunciation ? / I ; Romanian Râul Ialomița ; in ancient times Helibacia ) is a left tributary of the Danube in Romania .
The river has its source in the Bucegi Mountains and flows from there in a southerly and later in an easterly direction. Before it flows into the Danube, it flows through the cities of Târgovişte and Slobozia, among others . It crosses the Dâmbovița , Prahova , Ilfov and Ialomița districts .
The left tributary of the Danube has a length of 414 km and a catchment area of 8900 km².
